e-audio books

I can hardly wait to get my hands on these. I love audio books for long drives but it's frustrating when a library doesn't have the one I want in stock. Now I can get what I want whenever I want it. These would also be good to have playing on your computer when you're cleaning (not that I do much of that) or doing crafts or something.

Podcasts

Well this is quite cool although I can see that podcasts would be attractive for people who like to do weird rants - white pride people and those kinds of freaks.
For the library I could see a daily or weekly podcast of the children's staff reading a book to kids or some of the adult staff reading exerpts from their favourite books. Or perhaps visiting authors reading excerpts from their books. I can actually see this as being a bit more useful than a YouTube site.

Cold Play

I don't like all of Cold Play's stuff but I do like this song. Hope you enjoy it.

Wikis

Well now I know a bit more about wikis. Very interesting. I can certainly see the value of them for something like book reviews and recommendations - things that people are very interested in. The ones for the libraries have some value too but I think libraries really have to be sure they're offering a wiki on something that's going to generate discussion and input not just something the library staff feels is important.

Do I really have nothing to say?

What is it about the blank page that makes you feel intimidated? When I'm with my friends I have lots of opinions and comments but here in blog-space I don't feel like I have anything to say. I guess one feels that one should be brilliant or topical. Oh well. Maybe something will come to me eventually.

It begins

OK. Here I am. Now what? I'm not sure I have anything interesting to say. So let's just say "hello!"
